Welcome to Herrington! We look forward to meeting our new students and their families!

Parents of new students can begin the registration process by completing forms online through the secure RRISD portal. Online enrollment for new students is currently available. Online enrollment for 2019-20 kindergarteners is also open – look for the 2019-20 link.

Your child’s registration remains “pending” until the following documents are submitted to Herrington Elementary. Please bring these items to the office to complete your child’s registration:

  • certified birth certificate
  • social security card (if available)
  • immunization records
  • proof of residence (one of the following: lease agreement if renting, warranty deed or settlement statement from closing for homeowners, or current utility bill indicating the service address and adult’s name)
  • final report card or withdrawal form from previous school (if possible and/or applicable)

If you plan to be a Watch D.O.G., go on a field trip, volunteer in the classroom, or work with students, you must complete the online application AND receive approval. Please allow at least two weeks before the event you wish to attend, as approval can take several weeks. The Online Volunteer Application for 2018-19 is currently open.

Some helpful tips to remember when submitting your volunteer application:

  1. Please complete entire form.
  2. Select the school(s) where you would like to volunteer (you can choose more than one school).
  3. Please make sure that you click the SUBMIT button.

Linda Herrington Elementary has been designated a Spanish Language and Culture Institute for the 2018-19 school year. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade attend five 50-minute Spanish classes every two weeks. Students are learning the Spanish language as well as learning about the cultures of Spanish speaking countries and the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. The program coordinator is Beatriz Patten. Spanish teachers are Dustin Barrow, Rosa Baza, Laura Gonzalez, and Ivannia Hadba.
