Welcome to Herrington! We look forward to meeting our new students and their families! Parents of new students can begin the registration process by completing forms online through the secure RRISD portal, which is linked below.

Register ONLINE

Your child’s registration remains “pending” until the following documents are submitted to Herrington Elementary. Please bring these items to the office to complete your child’s registration:

  • certified birth certificate
  • immunization records
  • proof of residence (one of the following: lease agreement if renting; contract of sale or a tax statement, if purchasing; or current utility bill indicating the service address and adult’s name)
  • last report card or withdrawal form from previous school (if possible and/or applicable)
  • social security card (if available)

Due to the implementation of full-day Pre-Kindergarten in RRISD and Herrington’s space limitations due to growth, Pre-K will not be offered at Herrington for the 2020-21 school year. Herrington’s 2018-19 School Report Card

Highlights of the 2018-19 school report card include Herrington’s overall scaled scores and Distinction Designations.

Herrington earned an “A” Accountability Rating with an overall scaled score of 94!

Herrington also received four of the six Distinction Designations that can be earned by elementary schools:

  • Academic Achievement in Science
  • Top 25% Comparative Academic Growth
  • Top 25% Comparative Closing the Gaps
  • Postsecondary Readiness

If you plan to be a Watch D.O.G., go on a field trip, volunteer in the classroom, or work with students, you must complete the online application AND receive approval. Please allow at least two weeks before the event you wish to attend, as approval can take several weeks. The Online Volunteer Application for 2020-21 will open in August 2020.

Some helpful tips to remember when submitting your volunteer application:

  1. Please complete entire form.
  2. Select the school(s) where you would like to volunteer (you can choose more than one school).
  3. Please make sure that you click the SUBMIT button.

Linda Herrington Elementary has been designated a Spanish Language and Culture Institute. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade attend five 50-minute Spanish classes every two weeks. Students are learning the Spanish language as well as learning about the cultures of Spanish speaking countries and the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. The Spanish program coordinator is Beatriz Patten. Spanish teachers are Rosa Baza, Mirna Dumarielle, Laura Gonzalez, and Nicole Orengo.
