Linda Herrington Elementary has been designated a Spanish Language and Culture Institute. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade attend five 50-minute Spanish classes every two weeks. Students are learning the Spanish language as well as learning about the cultures of Spanish speaking countries and the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. The Spanish program coordinator is Beatriz Patten. Spanish teachers are Rosa Baza, Mirna Dumarielle, Laura Gonzalez, and a fourth teacher still in the hiring process.
