Things to Know

Spring 2015

Dear Herrington Hawk Community,

As we dive into this second semester, I extend to you and your families best wishes for many blessings in 2015. The first semester was a huge success! I hope that the second semester has started off well.  I am eagerly anticipating all of the many activities planned for our kids during the second semester.  Many of us are looking forward to such events as field trips, Family Zumba Night, Field Day, Family Sweetheart Ball, the Neon Dance Party, the Spring Carnival and so much more.

We will also plan a special recognition ceremony for all the community super citizens that have appeared on the Friday morning broadcast.  We have had police officers, fire fighters, attorneys, Boy and Girl Scout troop leaders, EMS, a nurse, our mail carrier, and so many more come to share with us about how they contribute to our community.  This second semester, we have also begun to announce Student Super Citizens on the broadcast on Monday mornings. Our Super Citizen theme has been impactful and has been making a difference in our school community.  Go Hawks!

With parental support, visionary and caring leadership teams, and relentless efforts from students and staff, we will be a school community that values high levels of citizenship and student achievement. I hope that all of us in Herrington community may experience a year of happiness and fulfillment in the work we do together. As always, if you need assistance or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teachers, counselors, and administrators. We are here to help.

Have a wonderful spring semester!

Julie Nelson, Principal
